Nature: Mallard Ducks

The Male Mallard gets the most attention with his luminescent blue-green head.
The female in the foreground appears to be shades of brown,
but the other female shows her hidden patch of bright blue.

I think the females are just as pretty, and as you point out, they have a gorgeous blue speculum when they move their wings. Nicely captured.
