Under the homes.
Though Connecticut was once mostly cleared land the forests have taken the clearings back.
New Englanders are used to finding stone walls passing beneath 80 year old tree growth.
Having used up the few farms on cleared land near home, I traveled a few towns away to a dairy.
This was once corn fields used to grow cow feed (stored in open silage pits).
The dairy, right behind me, sold off the fields to developers for housing.
But, if you click next, you will see the downsized dairy is still is in operation.
It is a popular place for ice cream in the warm months. My other reason for the drive.
