2024.10.07-08

A low level aurora was observed after 9:30 pm local time. Most low to the horizon aurorae only show as a green arc, but this one actually showed detail with spires, even right down to the horizon. I headed home at 11:00 pm local time, perhaps too soon as I saw other photos made at 12:00. It appears there was an aurora the night before this one that I did not go see because it showed intense in Canada but not locally. I was wrong. In all reality the X7.1 flare did not create aurora on Earth, could this be from the X9.1 that occurred later? If so, it was 2 days late!
