Coopers Hawk

Sitting outside on my porch, in an Adirondack chair , taking some shots when this hawk flies in and tries to get under an Alberta Spruce to snatch one of the sparrows hiding under there. It then flies up to a shepherd's hook and stays there for over 6 minutes. Birds are making a lot of noise but staying hidden and Im having to deal with too much lens at 700mm. Most of my shots are vertical to fit it in. This shot is a combination of two images where/when I could barely get the entire bird in the shot. I eventually took the extender off and at 500 I continued to shoot . A few more shots to come cause after this it eventually went to two other trees in the yard for more poses before flying off...

Awesome image Gary. Too much lens - don't you hate it when that happens :-)
