A short boat excursion from Istanbul brought me to the island of Buyukda.
I did not even know about this island before landing in Istanbul.
Upon arrival at Buyukda’s little harbor I noticed a few horse carriages with eager drivers looking for tourists.
“Can you show me some places around?” I asked one of them. “Do you want a standard tour or a GRAND TOUR?” he asked.
“Grand tour please” I instantly answered. What a nice experience! Riding slowly, at a horse pace,
along quaint streets, viewing the colorful painted houses, the local shops, and the daily life activities of the local people.
Just a nice day excursion, away from big Istanbul.
