20091105 - Light the Blue Touch Paper

...and stand well back!

I like how I've had this camera over three years and am still finding out new things - tonight I discovered that the self-timer works in bulb mode. Something I didn't really expect to work, but tried it and it did! I hadn't expected to need it either!

As for yesterday's pic - I don't know what I wanted, so that's probably why I didn't get it! I did want some low-lying fog from the river but didn't get it, it just wouldn't jump the wall into the churchyard. Ho hum.

love bulb mode, very creative... gives a very special "out-of-the-world" touch to nightshots!

Bulb mode is tricky, too long ... too short .... ahhhh! Perfect ...it is. Vµ

LOL at Paul. Superb shot Phil. Not the usual firework pic. PS did you really time that firework to go off within the 1 1/2 mins or was that good luck.
globalgadabout06-Nov-2009 16:22
marvellous, evocative image and fabulous technical mastery...hat's off Phillip...V

How many boxes do you want to ick with that one.
Low light
Long exposure
Fireworks
Self portrait
Star trails
and on and on...

Yikes! I know you're in Yorkshire but the first thing I thought when I saw the thumb was 'The Wicker Man'!! This is a cool shot, with lots of celestial interest - nicely done! But how did you stay still for so long? :o)

Love this - it's got a real cinemascope feel to it.
And it captures the feeling of being out in the moonlight. V

The most unusual fireworks shot I've seen yet. You've done brilliantly again with this experiment.
