20090409 - Tree

view map

Decided to take my least-favourite lens for a spin - I wasn't sure how much reach I'd need for the tree pic I had in mind. But my mind didn't know about the puddle when it was doing the thinking.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I think the puddle looks good too.
Is that tree really there, or did you take it on a stand?
Love the vivid colours in this.

I really like the portrait orientation for the landscape piccy, it goes against the convention and lets in plenty of the colour layers

Love the puddle...it adds to the tiers of colours.

Letting your mind and your lens do the work seems to work wonders for you!

Magical landscape! A big vote

Erm, _least_ favourite lens? But, forgetting that, do a 4:3 crop to kill a bit of the puddle and this will be really good.

I'll take the horrible thing off you for a tenner Phil:-) Good stuff, love the colours in the marsh grass.

I'd be a happy (Easter) bunny if my least favourite lens did this well...lovely composition with a very pleasingly visual layered effect...killer tree though! May one enquire why it's your least favoured glass?
Guest 09-Apr-2009 20:33
Ah! The lonely tree on the hill shot. Very nice indeed.

The puddle is right in its place! The composition is a winner! V

Excellent composition and the puddle adds so much interest to the foreground.

I love the interlocking layers of colours. Feet dry now are they??
