There was an old man who moved to the area and lived out his life claiming that he was the real William Bonnie aka Billy the Kid and that the person in the grave back in New Mexico was just a drifter that he conspired with his "killer" so that people would leave him alone. I believe that there has been exumations of both graves and DNA work done to disprove it but who really knows?
