St Louis Cemetery No 1

First Real Cemetery in the French Quarter, burials date back to the late 1700's. This cemetery is located on the far western edge of the French Quarter which was the edge of New Orleans at the time of it's plotting. The graves are all in above ground crypts and masoleums. This is a Catholic Cemetery that is looked after by the New Orleans Diocese. Yes Marie Lavaue is buried in a Catholic Cemetery. The Cemetery is only open during the day until 3 PM.
