This was a "hotel" when it was built in 1880 and Kate worked several places as entertainment when she was dating Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Hotels then had saloons associated with them and a few had kitchens that served full meals. Big Nose Kate traveled a lot over her life and she spent over a year in Tombstone then stayed with Doc even longer (some considered her as his common law wife). BTW Big Nose Kate was a reasonably good looking woman for the times, most photos of her were taken when she was older.
