Cine Lenses Used For Macro and Micro Photography on the Maxxum 7D and Sony Alpha 100

Cine lenses are substitutes for expensive, rare and specialized macro lenses for magnifications from 5X to 30 X.

Lenses are easy to adapt in reverse position using inexpensive M42 plastic body caps.

Hi Pete Do the microscope lens have enough coverage for a APS-C DSLR (A200)? Thank you

Mark: Both 8mm and 16mm format lenses have enough coverage when used for macro on DSLRs. The flange distance normally on 8mm lenses around 12mm and 16mm format lenses around 18mm. For example when used on a Nikon DSLR, mounting a 8mm format lens right on the front of the bayonet will be almost quadrupling the extension normally used for this lens. This will provide approximately 16X the area of the original coverage. 16mm format lenses have more coverage to start with so will cover even more with the same extension. Working distance becomes very short at these extensions, usually in the neighborhood of 2-10mm. Pete

Hi Pete, I just looked at your Cine Lenses Used For Macro and Micro Photography. Without commiting to purchasing a cine lens in orde to test it, is there a way to determine if a given cine lens will have a large enough image circle to cover a given sensor size? Many thanks,
