I can't get my mind off of Coleen, Gayle, Breland, Elaine and their
family and friends having to leave their beloved, beautiful homes to
get out of the path of Katrina. I just heard on the news that
she has been upgraded to a category five hurricane. I can't
even imagine. New Orleans is such a beautiful, but vulnerable, city.
Prayer is all I can offer. I wish I could do more.

On top of it all, today is Gayle's birthday.

Nine months later I am seeing this for the first time. Thank you so much, Petesie. This angel must have been sitting on Perilloux Place for the 11 hours of hurricane force winds and rain that I prayed us through. All I can say is, thank God. People who think I was crazy to stay must remember that we stayed because the Nursing Home where my 94 year old father-in-law and my 86 year old sister are was not evacuated so we felt we had to stay close by. Even though Perilloux Place is 25 miles upriver from New Orleans a hurricane the size of Katrina thought little of 25 miles. God bless you for thinking of us.

Beautiful! My heart goes out to all those on the Gulf Coast hit by the storm and the aftermath.--Rene

We were away for the weekend with no access to here & all I wanted was to hear how they are all fairing this terrible hurricane.

Thank you so much, Petesie. My family and I are all in your state now, near Houston. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Beautiful photograph Petesie, and a very fitting image as we keep our friends, their families and their homes in our prayers!

Beautiful in B&W! They have certainly had their share of hurricanes this year!

Lovely shot, beautiful sentiments. I hope that they will all be safe.

All of our family left except for a hardheaded 24 year old daughter. Hell, she volunteered for Iraq so my asking her to leave didn't carry much weight.
I think Gayle was already out of town. The other day she wrote she was leaving for Martha's Vineyard last Thursday.
