WHITE PRICKLY POPPY

This poppy, like all the poppies, is sought by the honeybee and other small insects for its abundant pollen---it yields little nectar. All parts of the plant are somewhat poisonous. The herbage is so prickly it is left untouched by cattle even through severe droughts when other herbs have been grazed to the ground.

from Wildflowers of Texas by Geyata Ajilvsgi

I was very careful!

Very prickly!

It certainly has an attraction of some sort Petesie...there's a circus going on in there . Not sure about those leaves though !!

That's a very busy little flower, isn't it? I can see three bugs/insects. Yellow and white flowers are so fresh-looking ... nice composition! :)

Really great -- as always you have a wonderful eye for composition and framing.
Why are the ugly things so attracted to beauty?? (Or am I just not 'beholding' it properly?) ;^)
Anyway, you make it look good.
