Excellent photography and use of selective color. Wonderful images but there's a very strange contrast between the backgrounds which seem period perfect and the faces of the reenactors which most definitely betray them as the beneficiaries of the revolt's eventual success after half a century rather than the actual Freedom Fighters who I suspect looked much more haggard. I think it would great if there could be an exhibition of your fine work displayed along with pictures from the actual event in 1956.

this is what photography is about..........it is often said of art that the strongest images pull you inito the image, put you there. These do that and more. Very moving.

These images are incredible and your creative eye and selective color makes me look at them again, and again, and again. I love what you have done. It is difficult to pick a favorite. Powerful gallery!
The images of the re-enactment of the 56 uprising bring back brave actions of the Hungarians and the ruthless crushing by the Soviet Union of the hopes for freedom. As somebody who grew up in Finland, a brother people of the Hungarians, I remember the events and the feelings of outrage and sympathy they brought out throughout the world.
