Cheese!
This elk swam from the Skagit River delta to Whidbey Island 5 or 6 years ago as a immature bull and has lived on the NE part of the Island ever since. I found him alongside the road eating green apples from an overgrown tree. He has gotten into trouble and mischief several times over the years when he tangled his antlers in things like rope swings and tarps covering wood piles. Today he made a funny face and walked off at the sound of my camera shutter. Some think he should be captured and returned to the mainland, others think a cow elk or two should be brought here to keep him company. He is completely free to swim back to the herd he came from.
