This 18th century mosaic was based on a painting by Cristoforo Roncalli (1552-1626).
It depicts the event recorded in Acts 5:1-10, when the couple Ananias and Sapphira were stricken dead for the sin of lying to the Holy Spirit. It serves as a reminder to priests to be true to their callings.
