Hammed in on 3 sides by the Berlin Wall during the Cold War, the low-cost neighborhood of Kreuzberg attracted Turkish immigrants, hippies, anarchists, and those seeking alternative lifestyles. Two decades after the reunification, gentrification has not diminished its youthful artistic flair. The trendy district is now home to many digital media companies.
We visited Kreuzberg because two of Berlin’s great museums are located here.
