Racket-tailed Treepie

Bahn Maka, Kaengkrachan

This is a fairly common bird of drier broadleaved forests. The beauty of the bird is easily overlooked at it appears all black and seldom stays still for long looks.
Here I caught up with one at a waterhole.

Wow ! This species is my 2000th and I saw it in 2004. I must confess that your photo lets me see more details and colors that the one I saw at that occasion. It looked to me all dark when he perched only for a while. I like your photo very much. Thank you !
