I went Peter for a day trip out of Bangkok at the end of a two-week family vacation. We explored new habitats that I hadn’t had a chance to experience yet, and I saw more species of birds in that single day than during the entire two weeks prior! Peter expertly paced our day, allowing us time to absorb the birds we encountered while keeping us moving efficiently to see even more. He brought us to fantastic bird blinds where we could capture great photos and observe the birds’ behavior up close. Peter’s knowledge went beyond just birdwatching; he shared fascinating insights about Thailand’s other wildlife, food, culture, and more. It’s clear that he has a deep passion for the natural world and a genuine love for the country. My day birding with Peter was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend his tours to anyone looking for an exceptional birding adventure in Thailand.

Went with Peter for an excellent couple of days birding around Bangkok while on a business trip. Lots of birds and lots of fun. Peter knew the "off the path" spots to get some hard to find birds. He was also amazing at identifying the never easy shorebirds.

We spent 4 days with Peter at the end of March and we had an amazing time. Everything was well organized but relaxed. Peter took us to beautiful places to see some of Thailand's wonderful birds, including.....fanfare of trumpets...spoonbilled sandpiper. He found great places for meals and we were able to enjoy lovely Thai food in local restaurants....all delicious. Tha bird life was wonderful and Peter was able to give us a great experience at our own pace and level of our knowledge. I learnt a great deal especially about waders. I would highly recommend Peter.

I visited Thailand in April on a family holiday, my first time in Asia. Being unfamiliar with the country and its birdlife, I decided to use the services of Peter to increase my chances of seeing some of the local specialities. So glad I happened across Peter as the day I spent with him was the highlight of my trip. He collected me from my hotel first thing in the morning and took me to several different habitats, each with beautiful scenery and wonderful birds. Not only did Peter take time to describe each bird and it's characteristics but he allowed me to go at my own pace and spend as long as I wanted studying each bird. He knows the best places to visit at certain times of the day and is fluent in Thai which further added to the experience as he interacted with the local residents at each location. His ability to identify a bird by its call long before we saw it was truly amazing. Peter is not only a great birder but great company as well which made for a thoroughly enjoyable day out. And if that wasn't enough he also provided a delicious lunch in a traditional restaurant. Thanks for an amazing experience Peter and hope we can do it again.

In recent years I went birding in Thailand several times and every time I went with Peter! : just this statement is enough to show how I appreciate Peter's assistance. Actually, I admit that when I started for my first trip in Thailand, I was a little concerned about Peter , how can an "odd" Swedish born be an expert of birds in Thailand ? how could he know the great variety of birds and places ? Well, only after few hours together I could test his knowledge of the birds, my doubts disappeared immediately. He knows the places all over Thailand , the birds, the rare ones, the calls and he is very helpful in trying to satisfy your needs in terms of species to find and to photograph. He is particularly skilled in spotting the "spoonies" among thousands waders ! As he is a photographer himself, he knows how put you in the best position to make the picture. I remember the efforts made to help me to photograph special birds like Malaysian Rail Babbler, Great Argus, Black-headed Woodpecker, Banded Pitta, Chestnut-headed Forktail plus a variety of Broadbills, Bee-eaters, Laughingthrush, Barbets, etc ... Looking forward to birding again with him.

We saw a lot of birds during these 16 days in March. May be more night walk but I know it is not easy.

Yes, it can be difficult to find a happy balance and in some cases it would have meant no dinner!! And many of the parks do not allow you to travel at night thus you need to camp. Still, we could have done more.....should come back! Ha!

Peter is an exceptional birder...impressively knowledgeable in his bird finding and ID skills, by both sight as well as sound. Birding by ear is very important and Peter's ears are always ON. His familiarity with Thailand and its habitats can only be gained by experience, of which he has decades. He appreciates and respects all aspects of Nature and is a superb photographer. Fluent in Thai language too, which is always useful. Also knows and enjoys good food...good music...good vibrations AND good "libations"!

It was in February 2021 when I travelled to Bangkok and looked for a 1 day birding field trip and this is how I got to know Peter. The day started very very early and I had a blast till the evening. Because of Covid I was the only birder involved. The upside was we were quite flexible as how to move along from one spot to the next. I have very good memories of that birding day because Peter just knew EVERY bird, kept note of which birds I saw so I kinda had an inventory to take home with me, had alot of patience, was fun to be with and plus speaks so perfect Thai, too! I am happy that things have slowly gotten to normal again. All the best to Peter and his fellow birders in Thailand!

When we did our awareness and fundraising trips to promote Wader Quest at its inception, we travelled to Thailand with the hope of seeing Spoon-billed Sandpiper. To increase our chances we asked Peter to help us as we only had a few days and he took us for our first day in the field. Not only did he find us three Spoon-billed Sandpipers, he worked very hard all day to show us many other specialities of the region, and where to find them for our days following when he would not be with us. Peter was friendly, knowledgeable and determined in his desire to help us, and help us he did. He also helped us find accommodation for the time we were to spend unaccompanied and his restaurant recommendations were welcome and spot on. A great all round service.

I have had two opportunities to bird with Peter in Thailand. He is highly knowledgeable of the local culture, fluent in the language, and knows where to find birds. He also is quite good with bird songs and calls, which helped immensely in locating the tough-to-find species. I appreciated his local knowledge and flexibility, as he let me go at my own pace and adjusted easily to my requests. He is also familiar with local fauna beyond birds, which broadened my understanding of the non-feathered richness of the region as well.
