I find this a fascinating image. The skater's middle legs have swept back and moved a substantial
amount of water behind, yet its body has not moved. The two front legs seem to have dug deeper
divots in the water as though they are holding the insect back.... the observation of these insects
moving is that they appear to hop across the water when moving fast.... so what we are seeing here
is the prelude to a "hop" but I find it interesting that all that obvious "action" has occurred but
the required "reaction" has not manifested in the movement of the insect.
