This and the next two shots are of the same heron in a field next to our home, taken, handheld, with the D300 from about 20 meters from the car. The bird seems to have a habitat there, and is not afraid of the close up view, perhaps familiar with my taking pot shots of him. Same bird was taken yesterday with the 70-300, see that gallery.
