This place is known to be good for birding. In particular, the habitat provides a unique place where several species from the north mix with species found only in the south. For example one can spot road runners here (we did not).
We did not have much luck (probably because of the part of the day) we have seen several raptors soaring to far to be indentified, we witnessed a true mocking bird concert, but mostly not much luck.
