Great Orion Nebula - Wide Field

Traveling Wilbury Observatory

M42 is the large bird like bright red nebula. M78 is the blue reflection nebula just above it, also know as the "Running Man Nebula". Can you see him? All this is surrounded by Barnard's Loop, the faint red ring. The Horse Head B33 is the dark nebula visible with IC434 surrounding it located above M78. Just to the left is NGC 2024.

A classic Orion wide-field. The subtle red nebule including Barnards loop and the Horesehead region. Well done!
