GPX M Viewer and Route Editor
GPX M Viewer and Route Editor ingests data from single or multiple input files, and filters the content by GPX type: waypoint, track and/or route, or by an individual route or track.
The app optionally presents route and track summaries including distances and tracks’ start times, durations, and average speeds.
As a multi-platform app, it runs both on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
On macOS, the routes and waypoints can be edited and exported to a new file, and loaded to your app or device.
The app started from my frustration: I have a large and growing collection of routes and and traces from twenty years of sailing. My chart plotter nicely ingests single routes from external sources (surprisingly even through FTP without having to remove the memory card), but exports only a massive collection of everything in its memory: for me over 20 years of routes and all tracks from the current year. I needed a specific combination, such as a named route and a specific trace based on it, or all traces from this year.
To make things easier, I wanted the capability to edit an existing route, use an existing route create to an alternate new route based on it (my chart plotter does not have this) or create a completely new route.
This is where the app started. Adding statistics, including speed threshold, allows me to analyze the data collected. The threshold is to eliminate time spent after starting the GPS with its trace, and time spend again after the journey before shutting the GPS off.
Realizing I can use FTP in macOS' finder I could easily get all data collected from the GPS, with the app update or create new routes, and with the FTP take these back to the GPS the workflow is now far faster and more convenient.

Erratum
A crash has been reported for this app, apparently while loading a trace in a GPX file. The limited diagnostics through Apple App Store indicate that this would have occurred in the external library the app uses for ingesting GPX files. As this has not happened in the testing, and it is not possible to recreate the issue with the information available, please send the related GPX file to the email address recons.mentee2s@icloud.com, should you experience a crash.
Data & Privacy
GPX M collects no data outside the temporary diagnostics log and optional GPX logs stored in phones app folder ("GPS M").
