Desert Kingsnake

This is a young Desert Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula splendida). These are very good snakes to have around your yard because
they will actually keep rattlesnakes away (because they eat them!). This snake was very tolerant of being handled. Once the kids
got to touch/hold/pet this one, I took some pictures of it placed by an old tree stump and then released it back where we found it.
