"Coinciding with the 27th annual Conch Republic Independence Celebration, officials from the faux nation unveiled the Conch Republic National Park Service on Saturday.

The new branch of the Conch Republic is looking to set aside land for endangered species, partner with a local nonprofit and create an economic boon, all while having as much fun as possible.

"I thought of the idea and I realized this type of thing couldn't be done without being a part of the Conch Republic," says Joshua Peele, founding director of the Conch Republic National Park Service."
