Keith and Sue having lunch at The Castel Beach Club on our first day in Nice. I decided to have a quick dip in the sea before eating. Wouldn't you know it, I ran into a jellyfish that did a number on my arm. The lifeguard/medic on the beach fixed me up temporarily so that I could enjoy our lunch and then she bandaged me up properly after lunch. Of course I went back swimming after lunch, any many, many more times during our vacation. No further drama.

Last time I was doing serious swimming/snorkling in an ocean was many years ago in the Florida Keys. Ended up in hospital for 5 days with very serious Portuguese Man-o-War stings ... almost died. I seem to have an attraction for unpleasant sea creatures. Still, I really enjoy the ocean.
