A road trip to the winter wilds of Yellowstone National Park in northern Wyoming was, by all accounts, an exciting adventure with many great photographic opportunities.
Eleven folks; myself, Peter Errmann, Peter Coombes, Janine O'Sullivan, Jacky Dormaar, Bill Cubitt, John Yates, Nicole Buret, Jim Sawers, Dianna Pawlik and Dave Breckon spent a week exploring the many aspects of a winter wonderland.

A favourite moment for me was when we spotted a red fox with very unusual colour and markings hunting for mice in a frozen meadow. Our snow coach guide told us that in late January, he had worked with a film crew for two weeks in -20 to -30 degree weather to track and film this particular animal. The closest they got was over 300 metres distance and they left empty handed. We simply got out of our coach and shot for 20 minutes in perfect light as the fox went about his activities with little notice of us. Another "Rather be lucky than skilled" moment, at least for me!
