If you turned 180 degrees from the last photo, this is the simple Los Quinchos shelter you would see at the dump site. There is a little dispensary to administer very basic health care. A kitchen produces meals of rice, beans, tortilla, and a bit of meat for the dump children who can get away from trash-sorting to come here for simple activities and even the delight of a splash in the concrete swimming pool. Here we met a few of the mature Los Quinchos boys who have become recruiters among the street kids and dump kids. We also met an Italian couple who represented ongoing supporters of the Los Quinchos project.
