An industrial area close to Sheffield, with 10,000 years of human history: Stocksbridge, the Steel ValleyHeavy industry dominates this town, but you don't have to walk far to see the more open areas, although still heavily influenced by human settlement.
I did depart from the route quite a lot on this walk, having already decided to drop the western part, as I had been up on Whitwell Moor a few days previously. And then once behind the steelworks, I crossed the bypass to walk the edge of Green Moor, to get the views from there.
A few additional shots from Green Moor added after a visit on a warm, sunny March morning.
