I think about the most beautiful thing I've seen is what it looks like flying into Los Angeles at night time. The city is so beautiful from the sky! This picture obviously doesn't show it worth a darn, but it really is like a jewel looking down at all the lights as you fly in over the city. This time we flew directly over downtown Los Angeles and I was able to look down onto all the sky scrapers as we banked so I even had a better view. Just beautiful, even though the city is so corrupt and dirty on the ground. This picture was taken with the camera jammed into the window to avoid movement, but was taken at an angle, so I rearranged the picture so the horizon was level.

Interesting photo - I've tried it myself several times (although it's been awhile - only with slide film). I don't think pushing up against the window could help you hold still - if you move, it's because the airplane is moving, too. That's why the wing and engine come out, even with relatively long exposures, looking like a wing and an engine, and not blurred, amorphous shapes. Of course, the cityscape below will blur, but less so farther away from the plane.

BEAUUUUTIFUL! IT REALLY IS LIKE A JEWEL! :) IT IS REALLY FUNNY HOW BEAUTIFUL IT CAN BE WHEN, AS YOU SAY THERE IS SO MUCH CORRUPTION BELOW :) NEAT!

Excellent capture. The effect is great. I think it looks more dramatic this way than if you could have had a faster shutter.

You are right Paul it is beautiful like a pirates treasure chest when they open it and all the jewels sparkle at you. I remember it thanks for showing me. Mom
