For my 13th to the last day of a Picture a Day for a Year, I'm posting two pictures I took of one of my guitars tonight. I really felt like I couldn't come up with ANYTHING tonight at all. I started looking around my house over and over again trying to find SOMETHING to photograph. I finally looked through some of my old pictures that I didn't use and decided I could try a few of my guitar. This is the result. Nothing fantastic, but at least I overcame the photo-block I had going for today!

Hey Chris! Regarding the "pleasing light" for this picture, I should mention that I actually went outside and looked quite foolish photographing my guitar so I could get the sunset reflection for lighting! :) I was out in the street in front of my house with my camera and the guitar in my lap doing weird moves to get the right angle with the sunlight reflecting. :)

Not only in a pleasing light but also an interesting shot.

Good thing you found this... it's a good one. From the thumbnail at first I thought it might be a piano.

Hi Allan! I have three guitars currently (though I stopped by the guitar store today with the intention of buying a fourth guitar). Two of my three are Fender Stratocasters; one is a Vintage 57 Re-issue, one is a Squire Strat that a musician friend of me sunk a bunch of cash into customizing the function of it (not the appearance). My third guitar (the one in this photo) is an Ibenez EX series that a friend of mine won at an Iron Maiden concert and gave to me. The one I almost bought today was a Peavy EVH (Eddie Van Halen).

Nice perspectuve and use of the DOF. Great lighting, too.

May I ask what kind of axe you have?
