End

It's over. I'm done. I've done a full year of taking a picture every day of the year without ever using a picture from a previous day or the next day. Each image was photographed during the 24 hour period from 12:00:00 AM to 11:59:59 PM. I started on May 22nd, 2003 (My birthday), and finished on May 21st, 2004. I AM actually going to do ONE more picture and include May 22nd. :) But I AM already done with the year. I'll just make it A Year and a Day!

Tomorrow (May 22nd) I'll be shooting some models, and celebrating my birthday.

Guest 14-Apr-2004 05:43
Oh, and I'm with Pete!! Try the 7 pics a week, even if they are all form one day! At least we would still get our Paul Walter's Fix!!!
Guest 14-Apr-2004 05:42
April 20th....San Francisco??? Should I get the day off!!??? Seriously, what are your plans?!
Paul Walters11-Apr-2004 02:29
You know Pete (Virginiacoastline), I think you may have a good idea there. I haven't considered that, but perhaps I could do 7 Pictures a Week for a Year. That might be something I'd go for. I could do all seven pictures on one day, or one picture each day, or three one day, two another day, and one on two other days. Hmmm... That's something to consider. Then I could make another montage for the next year. I kind of like that idea... Hmmmmm...
virginiacoastline10-Apr-2004 23:33
How about picture-a-week!?!? month? HOUR!!!! Yay, that's the ticket!!
Faye White07-Apr-2004 19:16
Paul - I'm so envious of your milestone. :) I will miss your daily photos, but I will certainly continue to visit your galleries - your work is so inspiring.
Guest 06-Apr-2004 01:47
Incredible Paul ... it's hard to believe you're winding down. Your gallery has become a regular stop for me each day ... I'll absolutely miss your work and inspiration.
Robin Reid06-Apr-2004 01:29
I look forward to seeing the results of these trips and events!
Guest 06-Apr-2004 01:00
ONLY 47 MORE DAYS! DUDE...THAT'S CRAZY! I am so proud of you and I will miss your pics on here...I can see why you would not want to do the PaD thing again...I agree with you...It's a great thing for a year, but after that just post us some cool pics that you took this week or this month! Thank you for getting me hooked on here too! It's been such a great time! I can't wait to see what is in store for your last 47 days! EXCITING!
Guest 05-Apr-2004 21:36
Wow... I can't even imagine what it would be like not to do this project every day. I'm amazed everyday at your photography! Please tell me you'll continue to share your work (even if it is more hap-hazard in schedule) ;)
Paul Walters05-Apr-2004 20:37
When I started the Picture a Day project, I had a specific goal in mind of doing it for a year in order to create a Montage with a Year of Photographs on it. That has always been my goal, and remains so. I've toyed with ideas of something I could do to continue my camera addiction, but haven't decided yet. I'm sure I'll continue to add to my galleries, though it's very doubtful I will ever do the picture every day thing again. I'm VERY happy that I came up with the idea and that I followed through with it, and VERY impressed with how much it's caught on! But once it serves it's purpose for me, I see no need for my version of it beyond that. :) The good news is that since I started this project, hundreds of people have now joined in, and pBase has even designed a PaD section now, and when I stop, many people will carry the tradition on for a long time to come!
Cagie 05-Apr-2004 18:58
Paul!!! I am obsessed and cannot imagine life without your daily photos sharing your daily life's experiences! :) I'm serious! What will we all do??! :) This year has been good for us and good for you.. You sure you don't want to do it again??!! I know, I know... it is a challenge to come up with something worthy of your fans and critics every single day! :) I'm sure you will be relieved.. But, indeed, it has been an experience I will never forget.. an important part of my year... as well as yours! :) Thanks for letting us into your daily life for as long as you have.. Can't wait to see Rosarita and all those other places and events to come..! I love you, man! :)
Guest 05-Apr-2004 18:29
Look forward to what is to come then Paul :)) Must say, although I've a way to go, I've been wondering today what happens come September 11th?? Do I carry on? This week I'm feeling not but will probably change my mind {lol} My intention was for only a year though when I started. Anyways Paul enjoy your 47 days and thks as you've been an inspiration :)) ~~ John

It was seeing your PAD that started me off on this project, Paul. And what an eight months that has been for me! I suppose there is such a thing as PaD fatigue, but I haven't hot that yet. Your models, Hawaii and all those places in sunny California. Can't wait!
Guest 05-Apr-2004 17:56
I can't believe you can stop! I can't IMAGINE life without this project anymore!! Not to mention the friends I've made!!!! You better keep posting stuff anyway!!
Guest 05-Apr-2004 17:51
That's lovely... except it sounds as if you'll be quitting the project after a year? I love seeing your work and hope you'll still be frequently updating your other pbase galleries (is we can't beg you into continuing the daily one!)
Guest 05-Apr-2004 17:48
Wow Paul, exciting times! Congrats!!
Guest 05-Apr-2004 17:45
You mean you're going to stop at 1 year? :-)
