Lost Cat 02-05-2004

When I got home tonight, my strictly indoor cat ran outside. That's a bad thing in this neighborhood. Unfortunately he (Maximitas) was too excited with being outside to allow me to bring him back in, or even allow me to get close to him; I can't follow a cat quite as easily as some people, and it only took him about a minute and a half for me to completely lose him in the dark. A big worry is that I'm scheduled to leave for Arizona this weekend, which means my cat will have to live off of his wits (which he doesn't have any of) for a full weekend. Hopefully today isn't the last day I get to have Maximitas to play with. :( This is a picture of me holding the "family picture" of Max.

I'm glad to see it was a happy ending. Except for the butt whooping. LOL!

It's great to hear that the cat came back :) Maybe it learned a lesson while out and roaming.

Thanks friends. Dumb old cat. I came home and decided to leave for Arizona a day late to give myself a chance to find my cat first. When I got home he was sitting on my porch waiting for me, which is the good news. The bad news is that my other cat (the girl of the bunch), is MAD AS HELL at Max and has decided to kick his butt every chance she gets. Max is currently hiding on the very tallest point of the house in about a four inch crack between the top of one of my speakers and the ceiling. Anyway, he's home and safe (except from my other cat), and I can leave for Arizona without worrying.

Paul - I hope he returns and you find him waiting at your door when you get home.

Paul! I am sooooo sorry to hear about Max! :( Ahhh.. I know how much you enjoy that kitty! I believe he'll show up! Cats are sooo smart! Good luck! You are a great pet owner! Don't be too hard on yourself! Let us know how this turns out! Good luck!

My friend Leonor came over this morning before work to help me find him, but we couldn't find any sign of him. I know cats have an uncanny sense of direction, so I'm sure he knows where home is, I just hope he doesn't give up on returning to it while I'm either in Arizona or at work.

Oh, Man I wish I lived closer, I'd be out trying to get him back inside!! Paul, I hope this turns out ok!!

I had another cat that lived with me in this same house about 10 years ago or so. She lived with me and was my best friend at the house and just a wonderful pet! However, she slipped out the door the same way, and that was the last time I saw her. I didn't get another cat for years because I felt I wasn't a good enough owner to be able to keep a cat safely in the house. Finally I got Maximitas. Now he's gone. Hopefully it won't turn out like my first cat.

Don't worry Paul. They have an usual knack for returning home, even after long periods of time.
