IMAGEination #7, June 16, 2012

While much of my photography falls into the landscape or architectural categories, I am starting to more seriously explore the "decisive moments" of street photography.

Street photography is a complete change of pace from the slower, more methodical rhythm of landscape work. It is being able to recognize and capture the fleeting tableaux of human interactions, as ephemeral as a desert rain shower (or an available LA parking space ;-) ).

I have to admit that it's a challenge to "get up close and personal" and point my camera at people I don't know. But I'm also having a great time channeling my inner Henri Cartier-Bresson, who is the spiritual father of street photography.

These images come from recent visits to the Pacific Park amusement park at the Santa Monica, CA pier, and the Getty Center in Brentwood, CA.
