"Same Place, Different Day" is a meta-theme that runs through many photographers' work. In some ways we are creatures of habit. Having once found success in a location we will go back to try again - at different times of the day, different times of the year, in different weather.

These photos were taken over a span of nearly seven years. Dockweiller Beach is in Playa Del Rey, CA, just north of Los Angeles International Airport. This structure fascinates me and I have photographed it on a number of occasions. By turns, the ocean's different moods make it calm, dramatic, somber or colorful.
