I returned to the railway in August 2012 to repeat my experience and I'm glad to say all went smoothly. The main excitement was when the new home signal suddenly went to danger on the first approach to Chinnor Station. I slammed on the brakes as a reflex action (there was no danger as the line was operating "one engine in steam") and the signal cleared again shortly after. An unfortunate signal box error, and no harm done, but it proved I was paying attention!

The railway is staffed entirely by volunteers and everyone made us feel very welcome. A highly recommended day out.
