Eucalyptus trees, rocks, and fog in the gray pre-dawn light.
This image was made during a hike up to the ridge along Cerro Condorpuņuna. I'd hoped for a clear
dawn. I wanted to photograph the shadow-edge that separates day from night as it swept across the
valley. Contrary to my desires, fog and mist were what was offered.
I keep trying to remember that this is not a game where specific expectations are routinely
rewarded. Instead, it is a game of discovery. Quite often we don't know what we are seeking until
we hold it in our hands.
