On a walk out to the waterfalls in Llacanora, we were spotted by these two campesino boys. Not
being overly shy, they came running toward us, and began the usual plea for "una propina (a
handout)". A few centimos could have worked, but instead we handed them a pack of Oreo cookies.
The older boy's hand shot out like a lightning strike; he grabbed the cookies and left the smaller
kid with nothing. Another search through the backpack resulted in two granola bars, and then both
boys were happy.
