I went to Wade between 1958 and 1960 (SP) then on to Bronx Science (63). We played stickball and touch football in the yard pretty much every weekend. One special memory was learning to love biology at the end of the 9th grade. Science was really really boring until the science teacher brought in some organs from a cow and demonstrated how the lungs expanded when you blew into them with a straw. I was hooked and majored in biology when I got to Temple University. One other memory also stands out - the orchestra played Rock Around the Clock and many of the students got up and started dancing. This unseemly behavior brought the principal to the microphone with a stern rebuke to the entire school. Would love to hear from any classmates who remember these wonderful years.

Does anyone want a photo of the Wade JHS class of 1959, 9-8? I have a hobby of picking up old pix and trying to return them to people. I recently found this wonderful photo. It's signed by many people on the back. One is Pat Morgan. Maybe that's the person that put up the photo of Wade on this site, but I don't know how to contact him/her. Other names: Phyllis Russo, Edie Reuter, Jeanette Wilson, Karen Hoskin, Mimi Turner, Ann Filipoirts (?). I hope I can get this pic to someone who is in it! :) Post back, and we can figure out how to exchange contact info. Kate

Wow! 1969. Goose bumps all over. I remember Noel Rodriguez convincing our 9th grade homeroom/English teacher, Mr. Feldman, to let the class listen to the Mets vs. the Baltimore Orioles on a transistor radio instead of doing regular class work. Here we are, 46 years later, and I can still feel the excitement of that day. Thanks for the happy memories.:)

My brother, Edwin Osorio went to this school from 1970-74 and graduated, I went there too from 76-79 and graduated as well. I remember Mr. Cohen the science teacher and Ms. Lenoble was my homeroom teacher in the 9th grade, she saved me from the mean math teacher who was yelling at me and accused me of writing on my desk. She was passing by the classroom and could see I was very upset so she took me to the principle's office and had me transferred to her classroom for the rest of the year. Thanks Ms. Lenoble.

Between 1971 - 1973. Does anyone remember Mr. Marshall (Dean) he caught me a couple of times cutting class and trying to run out the front door - never made it. , Mr. Litwak (Science Teacher)had a major crush on him. Mr. Cohen (Science Teacher) cool teacher. I remember the gangs that would come around the school - Ghetto Brothers & The Black Spades. These pictures are bringing back so many memories.

I remember listening to the 1969 Mets winning the World Series on my transistor radio while going to Wade. Member of the Wade "Chessmen" under Mr Marshall. We placed 2nd in the City as an 8th Grader in 1970.Anyone remember playing stickball in the "U" ?Wade was also the athletic "home" of the local Walton Raiders baseball team.
