i live in 1749 grand concourse for 21 years. i love my building there so much joy & sadness. we been though so much dat it still stands on its owen. i will never move out . if i die bury me in side of 1749 grand concourse. gaup citi boiz.

My Dad Dr. Sol Schechter had an office on the second floor of the Lewis Morris, I still the apartment number! 2Q Half the Bronx came to have their tonsils removed and get their noses "perfected" and their ears pinned back. My brother Phil and I still remember the fun we had climbing the "rocks"

This was the most elegant building in the Bronx.....All the doctors had offices here. So sad.

My Grandmother lived up in Bedford and her dentist was at Lewis Morris. In the last years before she left (March '82)she often reported about fire damage at that building. At that time only one elevator remained in service and at one point the door opened on a floor with a heavy smell of old smoke, a boarded door with scorch was the source. It's heard to believe how much damage the "human" locust have brought on the Borough. Violent, stupid people.
