Thought I posted. I lived at bottom of hill where the steps were. 1800 Davidson Ave from 1940 to 1958. Loved that place. More fun growing up there.

The building to the right of the steps is 15 Featherbed Lane. We live in apartment 8c from the mid 1950's until 1965.

I lived at 1800 Davidson Ave. I would go down the steps with my Mother to go to the A&P. What a wonderful place to live in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

My aunt and uncle lived in the building adjacent to the steps. I can't remember the building number but remember their apartment on the 6th floor. We also had cousins in the first floor.

No, the steps that went up to the Sedgewick Projects Public Library were on University Ave.

My grandparents lived in the apartment house across the street from the foot of the steps to Davidson Ave. on a Featherbed Lane 2 blocks west of the el on Jerome Ave. By he way, there's an interesting story of how Featherbed Lane got its name. It goes back to the Revolutionary War when the British were encamped near where University Ave meets Featherbed Lane (not very far from the Washington Bridge. Washington wanted to surprise them and lined the cobbled-stone streets with feather beds so the hooves of the horses would not make the familiar flop-flop-clop sound. It worked!

I used to ride my bicycle down all the steps in the Bronx.

are those the steps you went up to go to the library?

Another reason why The Bronx is the greatest borough is because of it's many streetsteps !!!!!! I grew up in Brooklyn in the '70's & '80's and there was nothing like that.

Yes, this was the steps at the botom of suicide hill. We thought it was named that because if you miss the turn sledding down the hill you wound up going down the steps.

My Aunt and Uncle lived on Davison Ave. You had to cross Jerome Ave and walk up those steps to get there.
