“Her hair is smooth with tips like clouds and roots like silver, and her eyes that shine like dewdrops on a lotus leaf…” Sri Sa-waad is a female "Korat" cat, aged about 14 years old. She is one of our family member of dogs and cats of more than 20! This figure is decreased slightly in the recent year. (Due to the keeper-my mother- has her simi-retired!)
Here she seems happily posting for one of hers many attempt photo shooting. She does not normally wish to post voluntarily, of course, a bit of hide and seek until I have given up most of the time!
Some history about “Korat”, named after the province of Korat in North-east Thailand, these cats appear to have a very long history in that part of the world. The breed was first seen in the West in 1896, with modern bloodlines dating from as recently as 1959 when an American breeder obtained a pair. These were bred together, and others followed, and now Korats are kept by cat fanciers around the world. A breed association was established in 1965.
