CRW_8627_acr.jpg

Note the vignetting in 8627. A lens hood was used.

8627_acr is the same shot converted in Photoshop CS with Adobe Camera RAW (ACR). I used vignetting correction to compensate for the vignetting. This was quite easy, but dealing with ACR in general was a bit annoying. For D60 shots (I don't know about other cameras), ACR tends to handle the sharpening of high freqency details in a slightly odd way. The default sharpening level gave leaves a gummy quality and gave the few blown highlights a blocky quality. I had to turn the sharpening way down to give the shot a natural look, but this actually made the building seem somewhat less sharp than Canon's conversion.
