Morton Inn 1830 07353.JPG

Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Destination view map

The City of Kingston contains three villages, Barriefield, Cataracqui, and Portsmouth. The Morton Inn is located in Barriefield Village at the corner of James and George Streets. Barriefield, located across the Greater Cataraqui River from downtown Kingston came into being to house the workers of the Royal Dockyard, 1788-1853, on Point Frederick. This World Heritage Site, a tie in with the Rideau Canal and Fort Henry, retains its charm as a 19th century village. By now all of the homes have been restored and newer homes retaining the theme have been constructed.
