The Superintendent's Cottage was built by William Massie in 1854 for £214. This Gothic cottage with teardrop ornaments on the verge board was designed by James Stewart, a Kingston architect for £25. The original board and batten siding was replaced in 1907 with the present siding. Other alterations included the addition of the two bay windows with the front porch in 1887 and the eastern wing in 1900. The interior has been extensively altered several times.
