Obayu-PlatodeEmbutidos.JPG

La Sidrería Obayu is a simple Asturian cider tavern, located just off the main road in Arenas. There's very little room inside, but a number of tables outside make it a sort of sidewalk cafe.
The plate of cured meats holds some Spanish favorites: jamón serrano, cecina (cured dried beef, chorizo, umm, maybe something else, and it's accompanied by crusty bread and a bottle of hard cider.
Asturian cider usually is a tart brew, without very many suspended solids. At first, it's not all that tasty, but it is an excellent accompaniment to meats, local cheeses and even seafood.
