To make the large radius cut I used a homemade flycutter. These are normally used for facing of material, but it worked fine in this application. The Palmgren milling attachment (on right) holds the workpiece and feeds slowly toward the chuck. If one looks closely, a chip can be seen on the cutter. I took about .010" cut each time until the depth looked okay.
