I just picked this up on ebay. The turrets are black and that's a rarity. Usually, they are left in the natural aluminum finish. The build date is: 6-21-71 . Nice minty condition and "only" $745.00. I consider it an investment in precious metals. ;-)

This is a 20X scope with the parallax adjustment at the rear. Shooters will know what parallax is,.....or should.

USA made - in Pittsburgh PA. Only the finest optical glass and materials were used -no bean counters were sitting at the design table. Even the screw-on lens caps are steel.

A few years ago I compared my Leopold 36X alongside a Unertl 32X Target model. The old '60s Unertl was clearly superior (optically) to the finest modern Leupold.

Hidden inside this scope there is a build date plus an obscure number; in this case 691. ??
