How empty our home and our hearts seem today ?
How much we loved this little brown guy who pee'd on the Clumber girls' skirts ?

Harry was so full of life and energy, even though he was diagnosed with PLE (Protein Losing Enteropathy) in fall of 2012. His weight and muscle mass dwindled, his coat was almost gone, but he was still Harry with the Harry smile and beautiful fluid movement. He lost that movement last night - suddenly his rear legs gave out, his lungs and abdomen filled with fluid, and he told us it was time.Cause of death:
Intestinal lymphangiectasia

What is ... ?:
As part of the normal circulatory system, lymph fluid is collected from tissues throughout the body and returned to the blood by way of the lymphatic vessels. In intestinal lymphangiectasia, normal drainage is blocked so that intestinal lymph leaks into the intestines instead of being returned to the circulation. This results in the loss of proteins, lymphocytes ( a type of white blood cell), and lipids or fats into the stool.

Intestinal lymphangiectasia may be congenital (present from birth) due to malformation of the lymphatic system, or it may be acquired in association with another disease.

Harry was known for his joie de vivre. His showmanship. His marking in the house. His ability to open closet doors and pull clothing off hangers.
Harry was a world traveler. He traveled to Europe twice, he was Best of Breed at Westminster 2006, he was Best of Breed in the World Dog Show in Slovakia 2009.
Most of all, everyone who met Harry, loved Harry. His temperament was the absolute best. He feared no one, gave kisses to and accepted belly rubs from one and all.

Thanks to Doug and Jeane for entrusting this great dog to us. He truly was a great dog in so many ways. He had a happy and full life.
